The Passport Law of the People's Republic of
China,which has been adopted at the 21th session of the Standing Committee of
the Tenth National People's Congress on April 29,2006, is hereby promulgated and
will come into effect as of January 1, 2007.

Passport Law of the People's Republic of

Article 1 This law is formulated for the purpose of
regulating the application, issuance and administration of passports issued by
the People's Republic of China, protecting the rights of exit and entry of
citizens of the People's Republic of China and promote communication with
foreign countries.
Article 2 Passport Law of the People's Republic of
China is the certificate of exit and entry and certification of nationality and
identity for the citizens of the People's Republic of China. No organization
or individual may forge, change, transfer, damage on purpose or unlawfully
withhold the passport.
Article 3 Passport includes ordinary passport,
diplomatic passport and service passport. Passport shall be promoted to
foreign government by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through diplomatic
channel. |
