China” has been approved by the 10th Session Standing Committee of the National
People's Congress of the People's Republic of China in its 28th meeting on Jun.
29, 2007. It is now promulgated and shall come into effect from Jan. 1, 2008.

Chapter I General Provisions
Article 1 This Law is formulated in order to improve
the labor contract system, to define the rights and obligations of contract
parties, to safeguard the lawful rights and interests of the labor, and to
establish and develop the harmonious and stable labor relations.
Article 2. For the purpose of this Law, it covers
the labor relations established between the domestic enterprise, individual
business, non-governmental enterprise or organization (hereinafter referred to
as the employer) and its labors, and the establishment, performance, amendment,
cancellation or termination of labor contract therefor.
This Law shall be followed by the national
authority, public institutions, social organization and labors who established
the labor relation with such organization for the establishment, performance,
amendment, cancellation or termination of labor contract. |
